V EASTER SUNDAY, May 17, 2009 . the dominant theme of Easter liturgy is the love of Christ, which offers disciples a total commitment of life. In fact true love welcomes all believers, even the pagans, but to one and the other calls for two specific commitments: the greatest love: to give, like him, his life and the observance of his commandments. Love and obedience are mutually dependent: the love that Jesus asks, demands good behavior of human justice and ready for the actual gift itself. The Second Reading shows that God loves first and generates love in the heart of man. While those who does not love does not know God, the rest just "love knows love."
The First Reading tells us that, as Peter realizes that he who fears God and what is right is welcome to him, is renewed Pentecost: the Spirit descends on the pagans, with the wonder of Jews. The Gospel reaches its climax this Sunday: Jesus opens the secret of his conscience to his friends: it is between two opposing states, those of the servant and friend, reveals his friendship, "no longer call you servants," "but I have called friends. " End all forms of slavery: the love of Jesus Easter comes full and complete intimacy.

PLEASE WITH THE GOSPEL
O our Redeemer, the eternal Word of the Father and the realization of his plan of love, is' that we are available in welcoming Your word of salvation. You, who have called us friends, support our continued efforts in keeping your statutes, to grow in mutual love, stay in your love in us and enjoy the fullness of joy that comes only from you and that drives us to share with those who seek in vain for the fleeting pleasures of this world.
